Through Quality First Teaching, we aim to ensure that teaching and learning opportunities meet the needs of all pupils. We ensure that appropriate provision is made for pupils who belong to vulnerable groups, this includes ensuring that the needs of socially disadvantaged pupils are adequately assessed and addressed. In making provision for socially disadvantaged pupils, we recognise that not all pupils who receive free school meals will be socially disadvantaged. We also recognise that not all pupils who are socially disadvantaged are registered or qualify for free school meals.
Reporting and accountability:
It is the responsibility of the Inclusion Leader/Deputy Headteacher to produce regular reports for the school governors. The reports should focus on measuring the effectiveness of the pupil premium approach and spending against its impact on disadvantaged children compared with non-disadvantaged nationally. We are committed to meeting the needs of all pupils, whether or not they are eligible for the Pupil Premium.
Am I eligible?
To be eligible you must be in receipt of one of the following benefits:
- Income Support
- Child Tax Credit, provided you are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual taxable income
- Income-Based Job Seekers’ Allowance
- Employment Support Allowance (Income Related)
- Guaranteed Element of State Pension Credit
- Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
